No exaggeration!! I have been going to Carls for years!! Not just 5 or 10yrs. They are always consistent. The sandwiches are good, fresh and price friendly. No credit cards needed, just old fashion money!! Dollar Bills!! Carl is such a nice person, You will find him working alongside with his employees and he rewards them for their services sometimes with a company trip...May God's work continue in this place!!

Okay Mr. Carl!! show off with your bad-self!!! wow!! this was my first time trying Subb's and boy am I impressed. I am impressed with the turkey sandwich (#9) that I got but most importantly I am impressed with the customer service of this establishment. My sandwich was tasty, filling, and FRESH!! from the very first bite I knew that I was going to enjoy my meal. I am very satisfied with my decision to dine here today and like Mr. Carl asked before I left his shop. I definitely will be back- no questions asked.

Amazing subs, fast service, generous portions. A small hole in the wall place with take out only. Highly recommend the number 4 pepper ham and the hot peppers.

Such an institution! Everyone is very friendly and don’t forget to bring cash. There are a couple atms nearby! There is also parking in the neighborhood nearby. I got a #3 with hot peppers and it was so delicious!

I’ve been coming here for about 17 years. I was introduced to this family friendly establishment when I begin working in the 20018 zip-code. (Sorry to took to late to review but this review is from a visit on 9/13/2024) I always order the #8 (Cooked Ham & Turkey w/ provolone cheese) everything with extra hot peppers (which aren’t hot at all more pickled), and oil and vinegar. Pros: Opens at 9am Great subs Family friendly environment Cost efficient meal Cons: Cash only No pickles Establishment is behind a bus zone (parking sucks) Here’s a tip, go online and google the establishment, then search through the images to see the menu, then call your order in. This place can get busy at times.

Was craving me an Italian and been wanting to try this place for a while. Run don’t walk here! Delicious food at a reasonable price (cash only). The owner is from Philly so you know it’s legit! Friendly staff and fast and efficient service. Will most definitely be back to support this black owned business.

Look no further! Your sandwich place is here!!! This was hands down, the best experience I've ever had. Carl's subbs is a great, neighborhood sandwich shop. Good old fashioned customer service, no frills, great food. Prices are what one would expect for the area. This is no measly, sandwich chain! This is a fresh, delicious, generously made, subway sandwich!! They have a good selection of sodas, water and juice along with a potato chip selection. Remember to bring cash, they do not accept credit/debit cards. Street parking only Plenty of space for wheelchairs or assisted mobility to maneuver around inside, the doors are manual.

You will not find a nicer owner to go with such a nice product in DC. Carl is a class act bubbling over with positive words at every visit. The subs (cold only) are great and reasonably priced while providing hefty, tasty portions. Make sure to bring cash. You will not be disappointed.
